The funny thing is, while enlisted personnel get promotion points for medals earned, for officers, they are completely irrelevant for promotion purposes and are nothing but egoism and vanity – whose has the biggest and most impressive rack in the room. Medals for officers are now almost entitlements.
All a Bronze Star (non-valorous) means now is that you were an officer went to Iraq or Afghanistan. It’s called a “good-bye kiss.” Bronze stars are handed out to officers just for surviving 6 months in country.
